I'm Baaaaaaaaaack!

Hello everyone!

Yes I know that I have been gone for quite a long time, I am sorry that  I have neglected my blog. Yes I had my baby. Grayson Michael graced us with his presence on May 11th after 38 hours of labor. He weight 9 lbs 9 oz and was 22" long. He is now 8 months old and is the greatest blessing I have ever known. My life has changed so much for the better now that  I have my baby boy to love and hold every day.

Yes I still on my mission to save every last dime I can, but I am not doing the extreme couponing that I was before. Although I did save quite a bit of money when I was doing it, I was running all over town and having to devote more time than I actually had to do it. Funny how just one tiny person can take up so much of your time. I also had to go back to working full time and in an effort to save even more money, my husband and I decided to move in with my family. A little history lesson on my family: We all prefer to stick together and support each other in any situation so we all live in one home and share all of the expenses. In my home there are 10 people, 5 dogs and 4 cats (my parents, my 2 siblings, my brother-in-law, my grandmother, my nephew, my son, my husband and me). My second blog, One Big Blessed Mess goes into more detail about my life and hijinks, you can read more about my family here: http://onebigblessedmess.blogspot.com/. So all of that, on top of having a baby and a husband to take care of, I just don't have time to do the extreme couponing or the space to build a proper stockpile. We have been doing all of our grocery shopping at Aldi and it has been such a blessing. We saved roughly 50% on our monthly grocery bill and it's been great. Couple that with splitting the grocery bill 7 ways and BOOM! Even MORE savings.

I just wanted everyone to know that I am not gone, I am still around, I am still saving money and I plan on posting new blogs soon about some great stuff. Everything from consignment shops, to thrift stores to making your own shampoo. I will also be experimenting this year with composting and growing a container garden. So stay tuned because I've still got plenty of ideas up my sleeves, I am still committed to living a more simple, cost effective, and green lifestyle and I won't stop.
